About the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators
The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) is a leading professional membership organization representing the interests of alternative dispute practitioners worldwide. With over 13,000 members located in more than 120 countries, CIArb supports the global promotion, facilitation and development of all forms of private dispute resolution.
As a not-for-profit, UK registered charity, CIArb works in the public interest through an international network of 37 branches. In addition to providing education and training for arbitrators, mediators and adjudicators and others in the ADR field, we are the world’s only provider of objective assessment and credentialing in the field of ADR. Our member grades are an indication of level of training and skill in the field and our Chartered Arbitrator designation is the gold standard in the field of arbitration. Through our headquarters in London and our branches worldwide, we also act as an international centre for practitioners, policy makers, academics and those in business concerned with the cost-effective and early settlement of disputes. This gives users confidence that the very best people are helping to resolve their dispute.
For members, and where appropriate, non-members, CIArb offers a range of resources. It provides tools, support, advice, networking and promotional opportunities as well as facilities for hearings, meetings and other events.
